one half of full coconut
kaduku
uluthamparuppu
cashewnut
green chilli ( according to taste )
salt
coconut oil
after cooking the rice using electric rice cooker, put it in a big vessel for mixing purpose, as well as to leave it warm for mixing purpose.
pour little coconut oil and allow it to boil, put kaduku, uluthamparuppur, thuruviya thengai, chopped green chilli, cashew nuts, and fry them until the white coconut becomes slightly brown and the green chillies change colour along with cashews... once this is done, mix them with the rice along with required amount of salt..( you can add salt little by little until you get the desired taste.. adding too much of salt will be difficult to eat ) . . mix them well and if required pour some coconut oil ( only very little ) for mixing purpose... yummy coconut rice is ready !!!!
precaution:
1. when using coconut oil, ensure you are not using a scented coconut oil ... if it is scented, better use seasame oil...
2. i have not told you how to boil the rice using electric cooker. for one glass of rice, use 3 glasses of water and leave it to the electric cooker to cook... put the indicator in cooking position after cooking it will go to warm !!!! ( hi, dont look me like that ... this might help first time cooking guys )
3. it is always good to try fresh coconut, if you want to pack it for lunch...
just let me know how was it !!!

Salute to Working Women who run the family !!
These days, when my wife and kids are in our native town for summer vacation, make me realise how difficult working women's lifes are.... preparing breakfast, packing lunch, cleaning the house, preparing kids for school, and catching the bus/auto/train or husband's drop to office and again after office, sitting with children for homework, preparing dinner, cleaning the vessels and rooms , preparing the bed etc.. make their life almost mechanical . . . these women hardly get time to relax ... summer vacation for kids, can bring little breather to their daily routine... as they can plan for a short trip with kids to natives... . . Husbands of these working women need to be very patient, supportive and understanding to make life beautifull for their wifes as well as for the family... when i was talking with one of my friends, after a blood donation in one of the hospitals in chennai few months back, i just remember a women doctor suddenly jumped into our conversation on this subject... she apologised for entering into our conversation, but said, the Husbands need to be more supportive otherwise women feel very disappointed . . . she was very upset and as a matter of decency i did not ask much about her... Doctors are great professionals who care for the family as well as for the patients and human beings they face every day...i hope men will realise their might and support women whether professionals or office workers and make every one's life a wonderfull one

Kathirikai Sambar !!!
As i thought of changing the mood of my blog, i decided to write my kathirikai sambar experience !! My beloved wife and kids are in the native town enjoying summer vacation and different combinations of food and love, leaving me wondering what to cook for lunch !!! i decided to go what i first see in the vegetable box... the purple brinjals popped out !!! i took four of them by their head and washed them and put them on the chop table... the blue knife ( ananya always use to caution me when i use this knife ) helped me in chopping them fast . . . after boiling the thuvaram paruppu i started cooking sambar, and when the nice fragrance started coming out i inhaled deeply and satisfied that cooking of sambar was over...( smell courtesy - my wife's sambar podi ) little i knew that all that smells nice, need not taste nice.... i realised only when i put the first spoon of sambar satham in my lunch time .... my phone ringed . . . my wife always interested to know how good my lunch was, asked me how is your sambar... all i said was, there is a big cue standing in front of me asking for a spoon of sambar satham, so i will call her later .... that just left me wondering, what should i do for tomorrow's lunch???

God's Mercy !!
I did not know that God had enough time to read my blogs !!! when i wrote, money the mightiest, i compared it only with love ... i neither questioned nor doubted God's mercy which is beyond compare .... Lord Shanmuganathar and our kula deivam Sivalapuri Amman just said to me not to worry on anything beyond my control and leave it to THEM !!! Time and again i have been often Helped by Them through many !! All i could do is spread the message of Their care to me and instead shift total responsibility on Them .

Money Mightier than love and affection ???
Though it is always believed that love and affection is mightier than anything else in the world, often we are made to believe that money is the mightiest !!! life when faced with illness can be saved only by money and not my love. if you have enough money to take care of your family member's illness you have the choice and on the other hand if you depend on some one else even with the assumption that it is a short or long term loan, you will be more anxious of answering them than the illness !!! God give money to people who are ill and save them from answering people than attending illness !!!

Life is just full of Surprises and Shocks !!
Many a times we use words for fun without seriously thinking about the real meanings... and in the later period, when you go through a situation or when you are very close to going through similar situations, the meaning of the words we say with fun, SHOCKS you with reality.... i just remember our Grand Parents always saying us to talk positive things and say about THATHASTHU Angels who keeps granting you what ever you talk either with fun or seriously.... So, Dont play silly jokes .....
